The 5th meeting of the Midwest Astrochemistry Consortium will be held on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on March 6-7, 2015.  Dr. Ricardo Arevalo, Research Space Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, will be our keynote speaker. The title of his talk is "IT'S A TRAP! A REVIEW OF THE MOMA INSTRUMENT ABOARD EXOMARS 2018, AND OTHER ION TRAPS IN SPACE OR UNDER DEVELOPMENT." The keynote address will take place at 4:30 Friday evening with the poster session to follow. Please check back regularly for further updates.

The Midwest Astrochemistry Consortium seeks to foster communication and collaboration between the astrochemists in the region, a diverse interdisciplinary group of astronomers, experimentalists, and theorists who contribute to tackling the wide spectrum of astrochemical problems.  Developing and mentoring the next generation of astrochemists, providing a support network for early career astrochemists, and promoting awareness of the field are also priorities of the consortium.

To learn more about the mission and activities of the MWAC, visit the consortium’s website:  http://midwest.astrochemistry.us/

We have continued to keep costs as minimal as possible, in part to encourage graduate and undergraduate student attendance and participation.  Please circulate this announcement to other members of your group who may not be on our mailing list.  We expect that most of those who attend will be able to limit their stay in Cedar Falls to one night.

REGISTRATION:  Registration will be done through regular mail using the form that can be downloaded below. The fee is $35 per person if paid by February 27th, or $40 thereafter. Registration forms may be emailed to joshua.sebree@uni.edu to lock in registration fee.  It includes dinner on Friday evening (pizza), as well as break snacks and a box lunch on Saturday.  The costs of the meeting are being partially defrayed by the Iowa Space Grant Consortium (ISGC) through a RID grant to Dr. Joshua Sebree.
